EtherCAT I/O modules
High-performance and flexible industrial automation
The EtherCAT I/O module network forms a unified system that provides flexible and efficient data transfer in industrial automation.
EtherCAT “train” structure
The EtherCAT I/O module network forms a unified system that provides flexible and efficient data transfer in industrial automation. The system consists of the following main units:
EtherCAT Peripheral Coupling Unit (EPU)
The EPU is the “locomotive” of the EtherCAT I/O-module-based system, connecting directly to the EtherCAT network via STP cabling. It features two Ethernet (RJ45) connectors—one input and one output port—allowing devices to be daisy-chained using STP cables.
